The Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) is globally accepted certification for internal auditors. Certification is issued by Institute of Internal Auditors in USA.
it is divided in three levels each with different subject areas mainly covering risk and internal audit. upon completion of this certification individual becomes CIA and can work as Internal Auditor in big companies.
It is not required by law to have any specific qualification to work as Internal Auditor but employers these days prefer CIA qualification in order to work for them as Internal Auditors.
